Verekinthos Villas is an impressive 240sqm traditional Cretan villa with a 40sqm swimming pool, set on the outskirts of Gerolakos village in Keramia (just 16km from Chania centre and old town).
Originally built in the 1800’s, the Papafilipakis family farm house, separated into three separate buildings, was used as a grape press, stable and chicken coop. The passage of time left the house (burnt once in the past, but not entirely) in the capable and loving hand of Nikos Papafilipakis, who in 2002 began to re-build these houses keeping the charm and history of the family farm house.
Nikos has personally done most of the building and decorating making use of the remains of the old structure (wood, tools, flour mill, old traditional oven, antique items, historical pieces and family heirlooms). From these, he has created marvelous wooden ceilings, staircases, tables, fireplaces and more. His diligent hard work and creativity in cleverly fusing modern splashes with a traditional rural feel are what makes Verekinthos Villas unique and exclusive.
Lying at the foothills of the White Mountains, high castle-like stone walls shelter and embrace Verekinthos Villas. Set on the hillside, past the electric gate and parking area, the various levels offer several outdoor entertainment areas; large patio, terrace, barbeque area, hammock and a uniquely shaped swimming pool. Perched above all are the villas; made up still of three separate structures (main, second and third building).
Enjoy the ever changing landscape of the White Mountains (Lefka Ori) from our Villa in Chania, birds chirping and general serenity of this quiet and peaceful location.
